CLEANING YOUR PIPELINES

All of our pipeline cleaning is conducted through a progressive pigging process. This involves both mechanical and chemical cleaning to remove sand, scale, rust, and wax from the interior of your lines.

For each project, we engineer and design a program to match the specific pipeline media characteristics, the current condition of the asset, and anticipated life cycle.

our two-stage pipeline cleaning process

MECHANICAL CLEANING

The first stage of our cleaning process involves mechanical cleaning with pigs, flushes, and solvents. Cleaning solvents are placed between two pigs and moved through the pipeline multiple times using compressed air. We closely monitor effluent samples following each run to determine the pipeline’s state of cleanliness.

Once our samples meet quality standards for chemical preparation, your lines move to the second phase of the cleaning process.

CHEMICAL PREPARATION

Our chemical cleaning methodology removes all foreign debris from the pipeline substrate and achieves a proper anchor profile for the coating adherence to the pipe wall. This process is called acid etching, while maintaining the integrity of your lines. Inhibited HCI is batched in a slug pill or between two pigs and again, moved down the line using compressed air. The result? A NACE #1 White Metal or NACE #2 Near White Metal Visual Finish, and a line ready for the coating stage.

We will complete additional mechanical and/or chemical passes if required to ensure your line meets our quality standards prior to the coating stage.
