About the Project
EnerClear was engaged in this project following a concerning situation where multiple high-density polyethylene liner collapses had resulted in trapped pipeline pigs. After consulting with EnerClear, the owner elected to protect the existing pipeline from further corrosion using our method. Once the liner was removed, EnerClear executed a cleaning and coating program of the pipeline that met the timelines requested by the owner.
The pipeline’s condition varied. Existing sections showed pitting due to corrosion and new sections showed mill-scale. Our method successfully acid etched the substrate to an average surface profile of 1.75 mil and a final coating minimum DFT average readings of 9mil.
“I would highly recommend EnerClear and their internal pipeline coating process as it has been demonstrated that this process can significantly improve pipeline flows and reduce internal corrosion threats to pipeline systems. Over the lifetime of a pipeline, this will reduce operation cost due to repair/replacement and can increase volume through put.”
